1986 BMW E28 535i:
Mileage unknown
Upgrades?: Yakima roof rack with home made fairing and luggage rack, Flofit Bucket seats, Custom steel braided clutch line.
Obtained in late 2009, I traded one of my bass guitars for it to a fellow BMW Car Club of America member shortly after I blew the motor in my 3 series. Trailered this fine example of an 80’s 5 series to the shop, had a brake line made, and have been driving it almost non stop since. I say almost because there was a 10+ day period where we could not figure out why I had no clutch pressure. Four master cylinders, 3 slave cylinders, a custom steel braided clutch line, and 5 quarts of DOT4 later and we had fixed the problem. Turns out the bracket that the clutch pedal attaches too from the firewall was cracked. Thanks to my friend Erik Helsinger for fixing it with pie, and not catching my interior and wires on fire!
Otherwise it’s been a very pleasant car to own. I have been using it for my work where it logs around 800-1,500 miles per week.
